Our History

Roy Davis Funeral Home has been a respected part of the Austell and Mableton communities for more than eight decades—a tradition rooted in service, integrity, and compassion.

Roy O. Davis was born in Mableton, Georgia, in 1908 and moved to Austell the following year. After graduating from Gupton-Jones School of Embalming in 1937, he opened his first funeral home in Douglasville in 1940. His commitment to service also extended to his country, as he paused his work to serve in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.

After returning home, Mr. Davis operated the funeral home from his mother’s house on Washington Street before relocating twice to Love Street between 1946 and 1955. In 1955, he purchased the historic “Austell House” on Mulberry Street, serving families there until 1981. That year, Roy Davis Funeral Home moved into its present location—purpose-built to better serve the growing needs of families throughout Cobb County.

Throughout each chapter, the funeral home remained committed to one guiding principle: care for families always comes first. Today, our team continues that legacy by offering professional, compassionate funeral and cremation services to families from all walks of life.

We are humbled by the generations of families who have placed their trust in us and remain committed to serving our community with honor, integrity, and heartfelt care.
