William Dean Vaughan of Kennesaw died on July 30, 2023, at the age of 76, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Rockmart, Georgia, in 1947, to Lewis and Mattie Vaughan. He worked for and retired from Greystone Power Company in Douglasville. William was married for 20 beautiful years until Janice preceded him in death on December 31, 2022.
William was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to travel. He was a devout Christian man and to know him was to love him. He dressed up as Santa Claus and his wife as Mrs. Claus for many years for charity events. He loved God first and family second.
William is survived by his daughter, Kristy Roszell and her husband William, of Jacksonville, FL; son, Russell Vaughn and his wife, Amy, of Douglasville. He was preceded in death by his sons, William Dean Vaughan, Jr., and Raymond Vaughan; his brother, L.V. Vaughn; sister, Freda Joe Truelove and sister, Nellie Dyer. He is also survived by his only living brother, Michael Vaughn; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Jan Henson; nephews, Shane Vaughn and wife Cindi, Scott Vaughn and wife Bridget, Phillip Truelove and wife Darlene, and Danny Truelove; grandchildren, Gavin Dameron, Jake Dameron and Dean Vaughn.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Roy Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services with Pastor Gary Lewis officiating will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 5th in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
