Susan Gail Munk (Solomon), known lovingly to all as Susie, passed away on October 25, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia, following a hard-fought battle with cancer. Through it all she remained remarkably strong, facing each day with the same grace and determination that defined her life.
Susie was born on March 27, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Charles R. Solomon and Sue Solomon. She carried with her a warmth and generosity that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, where she trained as an elementary school teacher. Though she began her career in the classroom, she later discovered her true calling in the world of banking and mortgage lending. It was there that she felt she truly belonged, and she devoted herself to that work for 45 years, retiring in 2022 after a long and accomplished career.
On February 14, 2009, Susie married the love of her life, Dale Munk. Together they built a home filled with laughter, music, and affection. Her laugh was contagious, and she had a gift for lifting the spirits of everyone around her. She did her best to never let others have a bad day, and she brought joy to the simplest of moments.
Susie delighted in crafting and sewing, and she loved to sing, filling her days with song. She treasured trips to the beach and the comfort of family gathered close. More than anything, she loved her children with everything she had, and she taught them, by her own example, to be the devoted parents they are to their own children today.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Susie was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Mableton, where her Christian beliefs guided her through every season of life. Her faith sustained her in her final days and gave her a strength that inspired all who stood beside her. She now rests in the loving arms of her Savior, her earthly journey complete and her spirit at peace.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. Solomon and Sue Solomon, whom she was reunited with in what we can only imagine as the most glorious reunion. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dale Munk; her son, Brian Peloquin (Tara); her daughter, Janéa Cox (Peloquin) (Todd Tolbert); her grandchildren, Bejamin, Logan, Bricen, and Haleigh; her sister, Catherine Solomon; and her brother, Ron Solomon (Chris) as well as many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Susie was always there when you needed her. She laughed big and loved even bigger. She was loved by so many and will be missed by so many more.
A service to celebrate Susie's life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at the First Christian Church of Mableton, located at 878 Old Alabama Rd. SW, Mableton, Georgia 30126. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, to grieve, and to give thanks for a life so beautifully and fully lived.
Though her laughter has gone quiet, its echo remains in the hearts of all who loved her. May her memory be a lasting blessing, and may she rest in the eternal peace she so faithfully believed in.
