Shirley Parthern Morgan, a beloved resident of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on Friday, June 26th, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, Shirley lived a life full of love, devotion, and generosity.

A dedicated homemaker, Shirley was known for her warm heart and her passion for family gatherings. She had a special fondness for hummingbirds and butterflies, and she delighted in decorating her Christmas tree for every holiday. Her love for online shopping, especially for clothes, was well-known among her family and friends. Shirley cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Shirley was a long-standing member of the Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy in Temple, Georgia, where she was actively involved and deeply cherished by her church community. Her faith and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughters, Angie (Scott) Shields of Tallapoosa and Linda (Jay) Tripodi of Douglasville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Parker Carter, her mother, Leora Miller Carter, her first husband, Cecil J. House, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, her second husband, Earl Leon Morgan, with whom she shared 8 years, her sons, Vernon House and Timmy House, her daughter, Teri Clinner, as well as two sisters and one brother.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Church of God of Prophecy in Temple, Georgia, with Rev. Kevin Nugent officiating.

Shirley's generous spirit and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

The Morgan family has entrusted the arrangements to Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia.
