Ruth B. Thomas, known to most as Mama Ruth, 88, of Dallas, GA passed away Sunday October 19, 2014.She was born in Tazewell, VA on May 13, 1926 and was preceded in death by her parents, Berkley and Alice Boothe, sons Larry Thomas and Leslie Thomas, grandson Nathan Thomas, brothers Glen Boothe, Walter Perry Boothe, and Fred Boothe, and sisters, Tootsie Crouse, Blanche Boothe, Manzia Hash, and Gladys Keith. She was an independent woman who lived on her own until her passing.She loved being outside working in her garden.She was her happiest when she was in the kitchen cooking.She spent the first part of her life as a homemaker and mother.She then decided to work outside the home and started working with special needs at Paulding Enterprises, The City Café’ and The Hiram Hickory House.10 years ago at age 78, due to her health, she had to give up her 50 hour work week and stay at home where she continued cooking for her family and friends.She always put her children first in life, along with a lot of other’s children.She will be missed dearly. Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Major of Rockmart, son, Allen Thomas of Dallas, granddaughters. Leah Hollis of Adairsville, Ellee Major of Atlanta, Tiffany Coffman, Tabitha Lester, Tia Hart, Tori Collier, Blake Cochran, and Ryan Gober of Dallas, GA grandsons, Lee Thomas and Scott Thomas of Dallas, 21 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friend George Wylie and special niece Diane Fisher. The family held a private service at her home on Friday October 24, 2014.West Georgia Crematory in care of arrangements.
