Funeral services for Robert D. Mauldin Sr. 83, will be held at 4pm on April 9, 2015 at Roy Davis Funeral Home, Austell with interment at Bush River Memorial Gardens in Irmo, South Carolina on Saturday.The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4pm at Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, GA. Mr. Mauldin of Powder Springs, GA passed away on April 7, 2015.He was the son of John L. Mauldin Sr. and Mattie Sue Mauldin of Marietta, GA.Mr. Mauldin was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Frieda Maria Mauldin.He is survived by his wife of 6 years, June Jordan:his daughter Cynthia Diann Mauldin Kussman, his son Robert Douglas Mauldin Jr. (Kimberly), his step children Michelle Jordan, Leigh Jordan (Jack), Denise Daniell (Robbie), and Stan Jordan (Melissa), his granddaughters, Savannah and Heather Mauldin; sisters Joan Bennett and Sandra Gibson; brothers, William Mauldin (Louise), John Mauldin (Pat), and James Mauldin (Jewel); sisters-in-law, Lillie Niederndorfer (Hans) and Gerti Ritter; brother-in-law Karl Ganglmayer (Notburga) and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Mauldin is retired from the United States Army with 20 years of services, honorably discharged.After retiring from the military he worked at Continental Can Company.He then went on to manage several restaurants in Columbia, SC area (The Italian House, The Captain’s Kitchen, and Western Sizzling Steak House).After that he worked at and retired from Inland Container in Lexington, SC.In his spare time he loved wood working, gardening,loving and caring for his furry friends and making various jellies to share with family and friends.
