It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Steven Marie, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. Mark passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 62, in his residence in Austell, GA. He was born on Friday, February 9, 1962, in Dayton, OH, to the late Eugene N. Marie and Nettie Fay Marie.
Mark is survived by his two daughters, Kylee Marie and Harper Marie. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Melinda Brown and Marilyn Marie, his nephews BJ and Todd Williamson, and his niece Jennifer Butcher, along with several other family members and friends.
Mark’s life was one of dedication and service, both to his country and his community. After graduating from Oakwood High School in Dayton, OH, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in Gunsmithing from Trinidad State College in Colorado. He proudly served in the United States Marines from 1982 to 1985, developing a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried with him throughout his life.
Upon completing his military service, Mark worked with the Fulton County Juvenile Detention and moved on to serve the community at the Cobb Sheriff's Department. Mark found his calling in sales, working for Harley Davidson. His passion for motorcycles and his ability to connect with people made him a cherished member of his professional community.
A memorial service to honor Mark’s life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00pm. The service will take place at Roy Davis Funeral Home Chapel, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate a life well-lived.
