Judy Ann Russell, born on April 8, 1945, peacefully departed from this world on October 14, 2025. She dedicated a significant portion of her life to serving others, both in her career and through her volunteer work. Judy was a retired administrator for BellSouth and spent 15 years as the beloved receptionist at Ridgeview Institute in Smyrna. Her warm smile and welcoming demeanor left a lasting impression on all who entered the facility.
For over 30 years, Judy was deeply involved with Al-Anon and Alateen, providing guidance and support to countless individuals and families navigating the challenges of addiction. Her compassion and unwavering faith in the Lord were evident in all aspects of her life, inspiring many to embrace faith as a source of strength.
Judy was a vivacious spirit who cherished music, particularly the sounds of country and rock. She found joy in attending concerts, where she would immerse herself in the melodies and rhythms that filled her heart. In addition to her love for music, Judy had a notable affinity for animals, often rescuing stray dogs and cats, offering them a loving home.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Leigh Anne (Brad) McNulty, and her son, Eddie Mark Vaughn. Judy was also the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Caleb and Isabelle McNulty, and three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Maevin, and Isla. Together, they carry her legacy of love and faith forward.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, who have welcomed her into eternal peace.
Visitation will be held on October 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roy Davis Funeral Home, located at 5935 Mulberry St, Austell, GA. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the same location. Judy will be laid to rest at Douglas Cemetery in Horton, Alabama, during a burial ceremony on October 18, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Judy Ann Russell will fondly be remembered for her faith, kindness, and the indelible impact she made on those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
