Jesse James Johnson, age 68 of Mableton, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence.He was born on August 4, 1942 to the late Roosevelt and Katie Bell Johnson in Rydal Georgia. He is preceded in death by Rosie SimpsonHe is survived by his son, James (Terry) Johnson of Atlanta; daughters, Donna Johnson of Mableton, Debra J. Reese of Atlanta; siblings, Ella (J.C.) Lightning of Marietta, Louise King of Cartersville, Isaac (Georgia) Johnson of Curreville, Helen (Sammie) Roper of Fairmount, Maggie (James) McMickens of Canton, Zella McMickens of Cartersville, Barbara (John) Richards of Cartersville; grandchildren, Anthony Hall, Ghervon Blue, James Johnson II, William Gamble, Nakitta Lightning, Nasia Reese; devoted ex-wife, Dorothy J. Johnson, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Gartrell Johnson, Frank Johnson and Gus Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a roofer for 42 years and retired in 2001.A graveside service is planned for 11:00 am,Monday, April 4, 2011 at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, Mableton, GA.
