Inaya Lynn Bernal, 20 months old, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, leaving behind a world made brighter by every moment she graced it. Inaya was born on September 20, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida.
Inaya was, above all else, happy. Her joy was not quiet - it announced itself in her love of Minnie Mouse, in the gleeful stomp of her beloved Minnie Mouse Crocs, and in the "ahh" she let out after every forehead kiss, as if each one was exactly what she needed. She loved to dance, with or without music. She loved her toy cat for the meow it made, devoured hot Cheetos with an enthusiasm that left everyone around her laughing, and was already learning to say "agua" - though words were never really a barrier for her. Inaya could communicate warmth, delight, and pure love without saying a single thing.
She called her brother Julian "J J," played endlessly with her brothers and her little dog Snoopy, and had a loving rivalry with her sister - complete with playful fake hits and a proud "Pow! Pow!" after each one - the kind of ordinary sibling mischief that families treasure forever. And in the middle of it all, she would stop and wrap her arms around her mama without warning, just to remind her she was loved - because Inaya knew she was loved too, and she wanted everyone around her to feel the same.
She is survived by her mother, Kiara Tatiana Bernal Valenzuela; her father, Julio Castro; her grandparents, Jim and Carole Kaney Francis and Miriam and Erwin Magarin; her step-father, Randy Perez; her siblings, Julian, Armani, and Victoria Bernal; her half-sister, Nancy Castro; her aunts and uncles, Julio Ulloa, Dayana Magarin, Juliana Magarin, and Erwin Magarin Jr.; and a host of extended family and friends whose lives she forever changed.
