Ignatius Egyebe Asiafor

Mr. Ignatius Egyebe Asiafor, 74, of Austell, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026. He was born on June 6th, 1951 in Agbor, Nigeria to the late Jonathan Asiafor of Jakpa,Nigeria and the late Agnes Asiafor of Orerokpe, Nigeria. He attended Ika Grammar School in Agbor for high school. After graduating, he worked with the Africa Continental Bank as a teller before immigrating to the United States of America in 1975 to pursue his desire for higher education. In the United States, he attended Roosevelt University in Chicago and earned his Bachelors’ and Master’s degrees in business studies.

Ignatius worked in various institutes and departments, especially in social welfare before his voluntary retirement due to ill health. He was philanthropic in nature, as he readily offered financial assistance to extended family members and others in need, especially in his native country, Nigeria. He was born into the catholic faith and remained a devoted catholic through his years on earth. He would always thank God for the little things, even on his last days on earth. He was a devoted family man and cherished his wife and children. He is survived by his lovely wife, Philomena Asiafor, two daughters, Augustina and Ochuko Asiafor, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service of Songs and Visitation for friends and family will be held 10:00 am Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1920 Skyview Drive, Lithia Springs, GA, 30122.

A Funeral Mass will follow at the church beginning at 11:00 am. All attendees are invited to join the family for a reception immediately following the Mass.

Interment will be held at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens beginning at 1:30 pm.
