Harold Lamar Harris, a beloved resident of Mableton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on Friday, October 27th, 1933, in Dallas, Georgia, Harold lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family.
Harold was a devoted husband to his late wife, Joyce Bonnie Harris, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and shared passions. Harold was preceded in death by his father, Carl LE Harris, his mother, Winnie Mae, his cherished spouse Joyce, one older sister, and two brothers.
He is survived by his loving daughter Patricia Mahaffey and her husband Jerry, his devoted son Marty Harris, and his treasured granddaughter Carrie Kennedy and her husband Robert. Harold was also a proud great-grandfather to Hunter and Carysn Kennedy. He leaves behind his special niece and caretaker, Kay Hall, along with several other nieces who will cherish his memory.
A self-employed man, Harold was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran during the Korean War and was an active member of the Masons and Shriners, organizations that reflected his commitment to service and community.
Harold had a zest for life and a wide array of interests. He was an avid motorcycle racer, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He had a particular fondness for Pepsi, sweets, steak, potatoes, and especially breakfast, which he considered the most important meal of the day.
A graveside service to honor Harold's life will be held at Mozley Memorial Gardens on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The Harris family has entrusted the arrangements to Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, GA.
Harold Lamar Harris will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his adventurous spirit, and his generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
