Gene Rudolph Milton, born in 1929, peacefully departed this life in May of 2025. He was a vibrant soul whose presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. As a person who never missed an opportunity to share a joke, Gene lived his life with a sense of humor that was infectious, making friends and family alike cherish the moments spent in his company.
Gene was a dedicated father to his children: Mitchell (Ramona) Milton, Debra (Duke) Norton, Kim Gatachra, Connie Alonso, and Randy Yarbrough. His legacy lives on not only through them but also through his seven grandchildren, who held him in great esteem, and his thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who enjoyed his playful spirit and wisdom.
Throughout his life, Gene had a passion for the outdoors, relishing moments spent golfing, fishing, and hunting. These hobbies were not merely pastimes for him; they were avenues through which he built lasting memories with those he loved, fostering connections that would endure across generations.
Gene's family was his cornerstone. He is survived by his siblings: Charles Frank Milton, Rachel Mohler, and Brenda Soehn , who carry forward his spirit in their lives. Although he leaves behind a cherished family, Gene joins his beloved spouse, Frances Milton, and his parents, Charlie Pope and Callie Edwards Milton, as well as his sister, Annette Beck, and his children; Michael Anthony Milton, and Cathy Hartley who preceded him in death.
A memorial service to honor Gene's remarkable life will be held on May 24, 2025, at Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia. The gathering will begin at 2:00 PM, as friends and family come together to celebrate the legacy of a man whose laughter and love will forever resonate in their hearts.
