Emory Lyle Atkinson

Emory Lyle Atkinson, 83, of Douglasville died Thursday, May 29 in his home. He is survived by his daughter, Sheri and her husband Troy Fennell of Douglasville; son, David and his wife Peppe Atkinson of Dallas; brother, Marcus Atkinson of Connecticut; granddaughter, Samantha Fennell and grandsons Nicholas and Bryan Atkinson Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia; sister, Doris Bohlen and brothers Raymond and Henry Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a member of the Allegro Motor Home Club. When he wasn't farming and riding tractors, Mr. Atkinson was on the golf courseor fishing. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home on Sunday at 3pm. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica.
