Edwina Bell Sammons, 81, of Austell, GA, died late Monday, April 7, 2014, at WellStar Cobb Hospital.Edwina was born in Canton, GA in 1932, the daughter of Edwin and Katie Bell, owners of Bell's Store in Buffington.She worked for many years at Coker's Hospital in Canton, and for Coker-Andrews Clinic.Though having no children of her own, she poured her life into the family of her sister and brother, giving herself in loving devotion to her church, Austell First Baptist.She was a leader in the WMU, taught Sunday School, and with her husband, Marvin, generously supported various missions.Edwina loved the annual camp meeting at Holbrook Campground in Cherokee County, owning a tent/cabin there.She also regularly attended meetings of the Red Hat Ladies group, enjoying the love and fellowship of others. Survivors are her husband, Marvin C. Sammons, Austell; sister, Georgia Bell (Richard) McClure, Atlanta; brother, W. F. (Elaine) Bell, Canton; nieces, Andrea Hawks, Suwanee; Katie Richelle McDonnell, Atlanta; Angela Kuter, Canton; Olivia Burt, Suwanee; nephew, Timothy Bell, Cumming. Funeral services will be held at Austell First Baptist Church, Thursday, April 10, at 3 o'clock, with Timothy Ridgway, Timothy Bell, and Travis Kuter officiating.Visitation will be at Roy Davis Funeral Home, Austell, Wednesday, April 9, 2-4 pm, and 6-9 pm.The body will lie in state at the church, 2-3 pm, Thursday, April 10.Interment and graveside service will be at Ponder's Cemetery, Canton, Friday morning, April 11, at 11 am.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the missions ministry of Austell First Baptist Church. < center >
