Douglas Leonard Shanks Jr., age 57 of Austell died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his residence.He is survived by his wife, Christine Louise Filipovich Shanks; sons, Kyle Filipovich and wife Sara of Stockbridge, Jeremy and wife Deana Shanks of New York, daughters, Denise Carden and Brandon of AL, Ranae Zachery of Austell; sister, Molly Benson of NY; 9 grandchildren, niece, LeAnna Shanks of NY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church. The family will gather with friends for food and fellowship at the church following the service.
