It is with profound sadness that the family of Billy Wayne Carroll announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and devoted children. He was 78. He was born November 8, 1941 and was a native and lifelong resident of Cobb County. He married the love of his life, Linda in 1962. They just celebrated their 58th Anniversary in June. They have two children, Greg and Paige. He worked for Austell Natural Gas over 40 years and retired in 2008. Wayne was a devoted husband and the best of the best of fathers. He raised his children with the same values he owned, honesty and respect. He always told us, “you can tell me anything, just don’t lie to me.” He was loving and kind, always thinking of his family before himself. His favorite pastime was fishing, all things to do with fishing. In the old days he spent a lot of his free time at the dirt tracks, racing and working on cars. He is preceded in death by his Father, Roy Hampton Carroll and Mother, Evelyn Cole Carroll. He is survived by his wife Linda Allgood Carroll, his son, Greg(Jessica) Carroll, Rutledge, Ga., his daughter Paige (Christopher) Campbell, Pittsburgh, Pa. Sisters, Linda Rakestraw, Powder Springs and Pansy Shead, Buchanan, Ga. 6 Grandchildren; Misty, Keith, Lynsey, Liberty, Hampton and Belle and 6 Great-grandchildren; Dylan, Tyler, Chase, Kaden, Rylie, and Zeppelin. To say that his family will miss him doesn’t even touch the surface. He was a great man that loved us so completely. Losing him is devastating.
