Anna Joyce Vollrath

Anna Joyce Vollrath, 80, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1945, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to the late Willie Edward Hicks and Hannah Devada Pearl Cutts Hicks.

Known affectionately to those who loved her as “Sassy,” Joyce lived up to her nickname every day — feisty, spirited, and entirely herself. She gave more than fifteen years of dedicated service to the Cobb County School System as a Nutrition Assistant, quietly playing a role in the daily lives of countless students and families. In her own time, she enjoyed shopping, traveling when the opportunity arose, and settling in for her favorite television programs. A faithful member of Grace Baptist Church of Mableton, Georgia for over thirty years, her faith was a steady and defining part of who she was. She was the kind of woman who left an impression, and those around her were better for it.

In addition to her parents, Anna Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis William “Billy” Vollrath.

She is survived by her niece, Tammy Garland-Brown, of Bremen; her brother, Bobby Hicks, of Bremen; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Roy Davis Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Roy Davis Funeral Home, officiated by John Smith.

Interment will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens immediately following the service with Chad Garland, Bryan Kilgore, Kypton Kilgore, Tucker Harvey, Cody Hicks, Wayne Hicks, Charlie Brown Jr., and David Weatherby serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Vollrath will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
