Albert Cox

Albert Cox, 79, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026. He was born on June 20, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late John Burton Cox and Ada Lee Lindsey Cox.

Albert was a man of simple tastes and quiet ways. He spent his career as an HVAC Technician with Morrison Heating and Air, where he earned a reputation as someone who knew his craft and got the job done. Away from work, Albert needed little more than a fishing line and a good meal to call a day well spent. He was most at home near the water, where the pace of life suited him just fine, and he never met a plate he didn’t appreciate.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his siblings: Bertha Robertson, Elbert Cox, Joe Cox, and Tammy Ethridge.

He is survived by his life partner, Barb Dawson; his children, Angie Smith (Donald), Melissa McMillan (Roy), Danny Duran, Tammy Dockery, Todd Burnett, and Lamar Ray; his brother, Robert Lee Cox (Connie); his sister, Ann Garrett (Jerry); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roy Davis Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel, officiated by Pastor Gillis. Interment will be held at Riverview Memorial Park and Garden immediately following the service with Jerry Garrett Jr., John Garrett, Lamar Emory Haynes Jr., Christopher Dewayne Haynes, Bobby Bollen, and Jesse Bollen serving as pallbearers.

Albert Cox lived a life that was quietly his own. He will be missed by all who knew him.
