She was born on November 24, 1924, in Hennings, TN, the daughter of the late Jarvest (Jack) and Frankie Mae (Brooks) Lee. After relocating from Trenton, TN to Kalamazoo, MI in 1949, she was employed at Bronson Hospital in Dietary, and later at Borgess Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide in the Nursery Department; but her desire for educational advancement and owning her own business led her to enroll and graduate from Beauty College. Upon relocating to Georgia with her daughter and son-in-law in late 2017, they joined Zion Hill Baptist Church, in March 2018 as a family.
