Donald M. McElroy, age 62 of Austell, passed away March 6, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born in Toccoa, GA to the late Herschell and Berthine McElroy.
Mr. McElroy graduated from Toccoa Falls High School. He attended Middle Georgia College and the University of GA. He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He attended Austell Presbyterian Church and was active and past president of his neighborhood association.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue McElroy of Austell, his daughter, Kim Munoz of Lithia Springs, his son, Scott McElroy of Douglasville, six grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Mae Butt of Austell, his sisters and brothers in-law Ann and Cecil Clegg of Winston, Kay and Chet Morris of Dahlonega, and Ben Butt of Macon; 7 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Heritage Baptist Church in Douglasville with Rev. Cecil Clegg officiating. Family visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Roy Davis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association or C.U.R.E.
